Summary:
It was late Wednesday evening, two hours from midnight, when Seth and I embarked on our journey to Yosemite. We drove for 2 hours to stay at a friend's house in the City of Angels (thanks matt!).
The next day Seth and I were accompanied by Joel whom we were driving up to yosemitee because he was returning to his job there. We drove as far as Modesto to meet up with friends who are in performing with the amazingly talented Anoushka Shankar on their "Rise" album tour. They performed that night at the state theatre of Modesto. The music transcended any live performance I had ever seen. Then we stayed the night at the Doubletree hotel.
Friday morning we set off to Yosemitee. Four hours later we arrive in the valley of giant monoliths. Our friend/guide Joel showed us the hotel, where visitors and employees sleep, all the shops and cool hang outs. Later that night we met the locals and returned to Joel's room at the Lily cabin.
Saturday morning the three of us embarked on a hike along the Mist Trail. We conquered jagged hillside and wet granite terrain. The reward at the end was the beautiful sight of one of the large waterfalls at Yosemitee together. After we made it back down to the village, we satisfied our hungry tummies with fresh grilled Reuben sandwiches. After an awesome jam session, Seth and I said our goodbyes to Joel and returned to the road back to the City of Angels. We got there a little after 1 in the morning. I fell on the floor completely exhausted and fell fast asleep.
Sunday Afternoon we finished the rest of our drive back to San Diego in two hours AND NOW I'M HOME SWEET HOME! I can't wait to fall asleep in my soft and comfy bed. I can't wait to show you all the pictures!
